I decided that I need a .223 specific funnel but didnt want to buy a Satern $20.00 one so I used an extra funnel I had and sprayed the inside of the funnel with some mold release agent.
I then wrapped a piece of electrical tape right below the shoulder of a loaded .223 round. I didnt overlap the tape and butted one end of the tape with the other and sprayed with release agent. I then mixed up some epoxy putty and packed it into the funnel till it was flush with the bottom. I inserted the loaded round and it pushed some putty into the funnel. The epoxy that squeezed out at the bottom was trimmed and cleaned up with some alcohol. I let it dry for about 2-3 hours and pulled the round out, the part in the funnel broke off and I cleaned the inside with some alcohol and a little bit inside the funnel with a Q-tip and a sharp hobby knife. Once it fully cured the funnel fit perfectly on my cases and on the Sinclair deep loading blocks it makes dropping powder a lot easier and works as good as the dedicated aluminum model. I may get another cheap funnel and do one for my .308. |

Take a RCBS small caliber plastic funnel and drill the end to barely fit over a sized 223 neck.
Cheap and works VERY well! I actually like the fit I got better than the fit I get with it than the Saturn. I have a numerical drill set from my carburetor days, made it easy. |

For my LNL AP I modded one of the universal funnels for dedicated .224 centerfire work. Now it will trip the CAPD without putting inward pressure on the case mouth.
