OK. Trust is done. First form 1 submitted tonite. And a HUGE thanks to BigWaylon for his "made for dummies tutorial". My plan is to sbr 2 more but I figured it best to wait a bit and make sure I did it right before all 3 were screwed up. The current plan is 2 Spectre 2's. It seems to be a good pick for the 17/22 switch, but is it the best pick for the 4.5" gun? |

I run a Spectre II on my 4.5" 15-22 and a variety of 22 handguns. Liked it enough I have two more pending. Also have a Warlock II that was approved last week (and another pending), and will try it out on the SBR.
Element 2 is a real nice can and quieter on pistols. I'd guess it would perform similarly on a 4.5" SBR. You might also consider one Spectre II, one Sparrow. Also look at the Ryder 22A. Me personally, I'm thinking real hard about the Mask-22 coming soon from Dead Air. Unfortunately, there's no real "right" answer for this. With rimfire, there are quite a few nice cans on the market. |

If you make a mistake, history has shown that people can get new forms approved in a few days. For a 4.5" gun, I'd go with the Spectre II over the Sparrow and the FRP of the Sparrow. If you want something different, maybe consider the Element 2 or a Warlock II. Although I'm intrigued by Dead Air's Mask-22, past history has shown Silencerco's .22 suppressor has a fair amount of first round pop with handguns - so hopefully the've worked that out in this go-around. |
