I am strongly considering setting up a NFA trust and acquiring a SBR .22lr AR with a suppressor. From now until I have the funds for the toys and tax stamps may be a as much as a year in the future, so no rush on time frame. My question is who makes the .22lr can with the MOST reduction is sound.  I have read good comments about the Sparrow, and so far that sounds like it might be my best option. I will already be spending a lot on this .22 by the time it is all said and done so a little more up front for the best suppressor the first time is worth the extra wait time to save up more cash, and seeing how this is NFA stuff I have a lot of waiting to look forward to anyway. IF this has been asked before sorry.

When I buy my first suppressor, I will be buying a huntertown arms. I called them and the owner called me back later that day from caller ID. I talked with him for 30 minutes or so and liked the time he took and the price is good too.

Chances are you can't go wrong with most .22 cans, but I love my Sparrows.

I have a 10.5" Spikes .22LR upper set up just like my .223 upper. I just recently made a spacer so I could use my Sparrow on it. It's a lot of fun.

I actually still tend to wear ear plugs though when I'm shooting it. It sounds quiet from the non-shooter perspective, but I get enough noise from the action that wearing plugs (at least in my right ear) makes shooting more comfortable.

Don't worry about buying the quietest.  Just get a Sparrow and be done with it.

Not knocking any other brand as I don't have any experience with them.  I would take a long hard look at the Liberty Kodiak TL.  I do have one of those and really like it.  Folks at Liberty are good people too.  Great customer service.

I don't have a sparrow but I love my Gemtech Outback.  Very light and effective and the company is great to deal with.  In my experience, chasing the "absolute quietest" claim is mostly marketing hype.  Buyer beware.

Sparrow is a great one.  A bit heavy but a.strong performer.

The aac element is also a.strong performer.  It is lighter

The outback hd is also a great can.

You cannot go wrong wih any of these cans on a .22

If your main use is going to be a .22 AR, be sure and check out the Gemtech G5-22.
