Anyone shoot this caliber? I've heard it's recoil is a bit less than a standard .300 mag? Same?

Bob - I have shot the .300WM extensively, and also shot some of the short mags as well - there *might* be a tiny bit of difference in felt recoil, but it isn't much, IMO... For my money, I'll be sticking with the .300WM...

Rifle Recoil Table

As georgestrings said, there is not much difference. A friend of mine has a 300 WSM, but because his rifle and scope and lighter than my 300 Win Mag (my Winchester has a 3" longer barrel than his Browning, and my Bushnell 4200 heavier than his Zeiss Conquest), they recoil about the same.
