| is it true a non-colt carrying handle (bushmaster, j&t, etc) will not work with a colt flat-top? if so, will it shoot high or low??? |
| Well, I have Colt front end (barrel, front sight base, handguards, etc..) mounted to a Bushy flat top upper receiver with a Bushy detachable carry handle and it works great. I have heard about what you are discribing. Shooting low mostly from what I recall. I know I didn't answer exactly your question but maybe it will help with a part of the puzzle. |

Colt M4 barrel assemblies (and possibly others) use a taller front sight base, which will be stamped with an "F". These require a taller detachable carry handle. Not even "standard" Colt handles will work properly with F-stamped FSBs. If you don't have a Colt F-stamped FSB, then any brand of handle (except Colt M4 handles) should work fine. -Troy |
