Did you look at their pdf with load information? There's quite a few cartridges with AR Comp loads.

I've been running it lately for 223 plinking loads. 55gr Winchester FMJ over 24.4 gr. Agreed the site has little data but depending on what your loading there should be enough to start a load work-up. this is what i will be doing with the components i have. |

The extent of Alliant's data for this powder is a joke.
The powder is marketed essentially as a Varget replacement. A lot of Garand shooters love Varget, and this seems like a similar range powder, that's actually available. Yet, no data, and barely any 30-06 data at all. Even their .223 data is very sparse. I'm loading 77 and 80 gr rounds with it, and find I like it better than RE15 - personally. (But visually, Re15 and ARComp grains are identical - don't ask me how I know...) 80 gr SMK, I load 22.9 gr at 2.393" (single load only) on 0.244" bushing sized brass, for 2790 fps. That's screaming fast for an 80 gr bullet out of an AR, yet my pressure sign look pretty good, and my groups are quite tight. For some reason with 77 gr Nosler, I have to back down to 22.5g and get 2774 fps. But no scary pressure sign there and those looked like slightly better groups. Don't just start with this, or you really could blow your ass up. I mean that more then just the standard disclaimer, as those aren't mid-strength loads I just posted (in my guns). Anyway, I'm also really interested in it in an M1, but haven't had much chance to play around with that yet. Anyone have any data in a Garand with this powder? |

Generally, you take the max charge weight, reduce it by 10%, and work up in your rifle with your components. You don't expect them to test every possible combination of components there are do you? |
