ok..im still a newb at the whole reloading process.ive done 38/357,44 mag/and .223 with ok results.i recently bought dies for .308 for my m14 rifle.i bought a few boxs of ammo from the lgs to shoot thru the gun.my thought was i would feel out the gun and then reload the brass...ok heres is where i think i screwd up.i went ahead and tumbled the brass, lubed, deprimed and resized using rcbs fl die set, then without measuring case lenghth went ahead and reprimed, charged and sat the bullet....now..for some reason it dawned on me that i should probly measure just the case.the finished oal are all  2.800 but the cases are somewhere in the range of 2.0175 to 2.0240....i think i know what i have to do unfortunatly but some advice would be great thanks.

You'll need to take a casting of your chamber and measure the leade to know whether or not your ammo will be safe to shoot in your rifle or not.

Probably easier to just pull the rounds.

I have shot reloads with cases that far over spec and nothing bad happened.   Doesn't mean nothing bad will happen if you shoot those.

you definitely need to measure case length. You can do this while the bullet is seated. If you find some cases to be above the max length listed, set them aside and get yourself an Inertia Hammer.

If the blue is correct, you're going to have to pull them down.  Don't worry about a chamber cast, worry about those numbers being correct.

MAX SAAMI length for the 308 Win is 2.015".

Now, with my Savage 10FP I can cheat out to 2.019"-2.020", but I've carefully measured things and I know.

Even if you were good with the 2.0175" cases, you're really pushing your luck on the longer ones.

When you get your rounds pulled down, take an empty case and make sure it chambers and ejects from your rifle.

This will check if you have your sizing die set correctly.

Do not procede until your sizing die is set properly.
