i'm a bit unclear on this, do i absolutly HAVE to get my lower engraved with my name/city/state even if i keep a copy of the papers with the gun at all times? doesn't make sense why i'd have to when i have the papers with the SN of the gun on them but i know laws are laws

you don't HAVE to .. but then again you don't HAVE to follow any other law you don't like (sarcasm)

do as you wish but I'll follow the regs and engrave my stuff.

because when you file a form 1, you become the "maker" of a firearm - and all firearms must have the information of the maker inscribed into their barrel, frame, or receiver.

ok i was just wondering, i want it to be 100% legal, just didn't know if the engraving was completly necessary
