I have a bolt action 22 belonging to my buddy. Im not sure what make/model it is; it dosent have a make/model on it.
When i push the bolt forward i cant turn the bolt unless i am holding down the trigger. Any ideas what might cause this?

I'm presuming that the weapon doesn't cock if you hold the trigger down to close the bolt?

I'm thinking it may be a problem between the sear and hammer. The hammer may not be able to move fully rearwards, or it may be engaging on the sear too early. Pictures of the action may help.
