[ARCHIVED THREAD] - brass marks

Hi guy's,
I am new to the M1A and to this forum. I have done a search here and have tried to get ahold of Springfireld without any luck.
After firing a few shots from my new rifle I found that the empty brass was stricking my charging handle and sending the brass froward. I am not really worried about this, the gun functions flawlessly, but I was wondering if this is normal? If not is there anything that I can do to fix this.

Ditto. Mine does the same thing. Does not bother me a bit.

Normal. I understand that you can tweak the extractor to get the brass to go where you want it to go. But I'd probably scrap my extractor if I tried it so I'll jst live with the brass stains.
