Hello, I have a Tac 65 suppressor headed my way this week and while I already have one host gun for it (Sig Mosquito) I have been wanting to get my Buckmark Target 5.5 setup for it too. my question is, would I be better off buying a new barrel (possibility for reduced accuracy and means I have to switch barrels around) or should I get my current barrel threaded (will cost almost as much as a new barrell due to the need to shorten the rail and relocate the front site)

anyone have any experience having the target barrel threaded(bull barrel with rail and hooded sights)  would like to know a good place to send it to and approx what it would cost. if I dont end up threading my existing barrel I will probably end up getting a hi-desert dog or Tac Sol.

any input is greatly appreciated. here is a pic of the firearm in question (not an actual pic of mine, but this is the exact gun)

I have the tac sol, and love it.  It's as accurate as I am, but not sure if it will hang with your target model...

Good luck.

You might try the TAC sol.  If it does not work well enough for ya, I don't think it would be hard to flip for close to your cost.

Nice pistol - one of those 5.5" Target models is on my list of 'wants' to go with my Silhouette and URX.

I'd recommend getting another barrel.  With the OEM rail on your target it will be more of a pain to move the front sight.

I *really* like my threaded 4" TacSol barrel.  Very light weight which makes for a great carry gun.  You'll need to buy a new rail to go with it - the TacSol barrels use the OEM rail, and I don't think your full-length rail will swap over that well.

I have a regular 5.5" buckmark that I threaded.  the hardest part was redrilling the site screw hole.  I love mine.  that being said if I had the funds I would get a tac-sol barrel just for the weight savings.

is your rail held on with that same type of hole?  I think the hardest part for you is figuring out how to reattach that rail.  since I have never seen that model I can't speak to that.

I got Hi-Desertdog to do my slabside Buckmark.  Threaded it and moved back the front sight.  Really good work.
I got it done a while back, so the pricing has changed.
His current price list is on his site:  http://www.hi-desertdog.com/index.php?_a=viewCat&catId=38

I like my TacSol barrel.  Makes the pistol balance better with the TAC65 on.
