it was a lower i had already built, and since i am not riding around in the car with it , i didn't see a need for a collapsable stock…..and even with this stock its still about 4-5 inches shorter than an m4 with an 18 inch barrel stock collapsed … its got an overall length of 26 inches… not bad with a full length fixed stock
|
| it really shoots amazing….. i shot one my buddy had at the range and fell in love went home that night and bought one…..i heard you can only get the 762 mod 1 if you are active duty military……… they stopped offering them for civilians about a year ago… oh, the mags came from PWS and i have had no issues at all… i am actually going to try to run this set up in a local 3 gun shoot and see how that goes.. |

Too bad they don't offer these anymore. I was really wanting one. Me too. I called a year ago and they said they weren't selling like the Backouts were so they dropped them. I don't need another strange caliber that I can't find ammo for so I won't get one. However I do have a pile of 7.62x39 ammo and mags to boot.

| I've got an original FDE 762 diablo. It's the complete rifle from pws. I switched to a pws heavy tungsten buffer and sprinco red spring. It ran perfect with original equipment but I like the recoil pulse better with the new buffer and spring. I only shoot the rifle suppressed and have been 100% with the new combo. |

I've got a factory PWS Diablo SBR, but I didn't switch springs. The gun ran fine in semi (most of the time) but would FTF on full (RR lower). only tried 3 mags (ASI) and was using Wolf 150gr soft points steel cased ammo. I tried the red spring and a heavier buffer, but that exacerbated the problem in semi-auto, so I went back to the factory spring and buffer. I only put about 270 rounds through it, so it's not broken in yet, but that shouldn't cause all the FTF's, should it? Not hijacking the thread , just stating my problems with this upper.

The tip was too soft and would deform on the edge of the feed ramp causing the ftf. I could replicate the same ftf with same ammo in a 7.62x39 mk114. The rifle will run the golden bear soft points and fmj all day long. Edit: just realized you listed the ammo type. Try another brand of ammo and see if problem persists. |

Tell me how you got a mod 1 in 7.62x39. I've been looking for one to go on my Punisher lower, but have only found a few mod 0's that were priced rediculously. I don't know if you guys heard, but PWS just announced they are making a limited run of the 7.62x39 upper/barrel assemblies. They are doing SBR/pistol length (7.75" barrels) and longer (16" barrels) upper assemblies. link to info about limited run of PWS 7.62x39 uppers HighSpeedSteel |
