I passed on a chance to buy a dr300 a few months ago and have been thinking about it ever since.  I have a good supply of 7.63x39 but only an sks to shoot it. Due to the pecularities of Ct state law 7.62x39 AK's are illegal.  The main reason I didn't pick up the one I saw was I was worried about the avalability of mags. After doing some resurch I found a decent amount of magazines available on the net, but also learned that many of the mags have reliability issues. So, any experiences or opinions? Beyond magazine issues I am curious about the rifle itself. Accurate? Reliable?

            Thanks - Jay

What I have read:
Those that have them like them (mostly 223 version)
They are not as accurate as Daewoo would have you believe, but not bad either
Parts and service can be hard to come by
If it comes with the Fugly stock, and state law allows, Ace can help you out.

Hope this helps

thanks for the info and the link. Surprised there is any after market stuff available for a rifle that judging by the lack of responses isn't too popular. I know the folders would be illegal in CT. but the fixed one may be doable.
Thanks again- Jay
Anybody else know anything about these rifles?

my understanding is that .223 versions are reliable, accurate, and comes with xlnt steel sights.  I've heard that the short Russian version -DR300- didn't work with some ammo.
