Does anyone make a .22lr dedicated upper that will accept a tac-65 without barrel rethreading? Or can i run an old A1 upper with 1/12 rifling and a conversion kit with the suppressor on existing flash hider threads?

most barrels in a dedicated 22 will work however you may want to use a spacer on the threads between the barrel and suppressor.

Spike's dedicated upper should work, eh.  I got mine with the Lothar upgrade (5.5" shorty keeps standard velocity subsonic...)

so if i get this upper spikes i should just be able to remove the flash hider and screw on the suppressor? I might have to contact spikes and find out thread lengths and if they reccommend a spacer.

I have a Spike's upper and it was recommended by Tom from Spike's as well as a few others on this board. That barrel comes with 1/2-28 threads and I think a length of .65(not really sure and don't feel like looking it up). the threads on your can are about .45 inches. One of the problems if you do not use the spacer the end of the threads that stick into the can will "lead up" and you will have a hell of a time getting the end cap off.

Spike's and M1S barrels (and CLE) have .600" worth of threads. Depending on the depth of threads on your TAC65, you may need a peel washer or two.
Spectre goes right on all three.

I was wanting to do the same. Anyone know where I can pick up an old A1 barrel with slow twist on the cheap?

After chatting with the fellas from Spikes about the details they came up with a nice solution.  I'm using a GT Outback-II, which specs the threads at 1/2-28 x .400  Most barrels have .500" worth of threads, which means you'll need some type of spacer to keep the can shouldered properly (.600 would be even worse).  For 30 bucks, Spikes cut .100 off the end and recrowned it; problem solved.  It worked great for me.
