where can I get a good quick detachable dummy can for my m4?

Hot liver in a French roll may feel good but it ain't the real thing....

Where can I get a weight to add to the end of my barrel, maybe with some racing stripes?  A fake can is about as useful; this isn't an airsoft gun, after all.

Seriously man, don't waste your money just to make your rifle even more end-heavy.

I saw one pop up on the equipment exchange a few days ago, if you still want to drop some cash.

well for me I sometimes get someone ask me if my m4 is silenced when I'm using my .22 adapter for some reason. So I thought it might be kind of cool to get the dummy can so it would look the part too. some day I won't like in WA any more and I'll be able to get the real thing.

I'd just wait til you get out of WA.  The money for a fake can can go into your real can fund

That would be pretty funny.

You can buy a real silencer in WA state, you just can't use it in state, so when you move you will be already set to go.  Once you move you will be stuck with all kinds of moving expenses and that will delay buying the silencer.  Buy it now move when you can.

POI shift.  How about that?

I have a few cans, but currently live / work in a non-silencer state.

I have a T/C Contender that I like to shoot suppressed.  I keep thinking of having a fake suppressor / barrel weight made up so I can shoot to the same POI as when I shoot with the can on.

It's likely that the fake can would give you a very different POI shift from the real one, as it's more the change in air currents from the suppressor that changes the POI, not the weight itself.

You have people ask you if your m4 is suppressed without a can on the end

Personally I thinks its stupid to have a dummy can, but I would see if any manf would sell you an non-serialized tube with just the caps. That way you could just send it back to stuff in the baffles/serial number when you decide to get the real thing.

I have a Gemtech G-5 and a Surefire FA556K and have used an AAC M4-2000 and a KAC M4QD-NT4. It is my humble option that the Surefire is the best thing going. The design of the QD the fit and finish the low weight and small size and the noise suppression is fantastic. If I could only have one it would be my Surefire

he wants to enjoy his gun, that's the entire point. if attaching unnecessary equipment to it is how he finds pleasure in shooting his weapon then let him be.

Nobody is saying he can't, but part of helping someone on the site is explaining why something might not be a great idea or a waste of funds.

Not so much. The ATF is rather retentive about what they will and will not call a "non" item. A smaller mfg might do it, but I doubt any of the bigger names will risk the ATF deciding that the empty tube they sold you was not sufficiently neutered. Besides, they'd have to custom weld a bore tube to the end caps and improvise a mount and, and, and...

At one point AAC had one piece solid aluminum fake cans that used an A1 variant of their normal QD flash hider. Those might be what you're looking for. I have some hidden in the safe somewhere. I can grab a pic sometime if you want to see them.

Just get a real suppressor, if you cant get the CLEO to sign off on one then go the trust route.  Suppressors are legal in the state of Washington.  Legal to own, not legal to shoot.  Visit Oregon or Idaho or for SHTF.

Put your $100 or whatever for your fake can in a CD for the length of time that you plan on living in a non-silencer state.  By that time maybe it'll pay for your tax stamp and/or your real can.  Doesn't really seem worthwhile.

That being said, I kind of want to get one for my Scorpion.  I also kind of want to try the liver and french roll thing.

what's the trust route? and how hard is it to get a cleo to sing off on it in washington state? I ask because you are from here. I live in Pierce county (I know not good I'm on Ft. Lewis) My folks like in King county (worse I know) but I don't live there anymore.

Go to the Washington hometown forum and the NFA/suppressor pages andstart reading.  Once you have a trust 3 week turn around and no Cleo.

C'mon Phoebus, you've been in the Army, you know that no matter how many times you tell that 90 LB Private to leave that 300 LB chic (named Shameeka) alone, he's still going to jump on that grenade and brag about the shit afterwards anyway!

You're not going to change his mind, at least point him to a smaller-sized mistake.

Here ya go M1Garand_Man (Google is your friend): 300 LB Grenade

Ha, well, now that he tells us about the .22 thing, that is sorta funny... first possibly decent reason to have a fake can that I've ever heard.

We had an E4 who always got drunk and danced with the fat chicks.. he never believed us until someone brought along a camera.
