Picked it up from Todd over at Family Firearms & Finishes. He often gets the pick
of the litter w/ RC mausers. A very stand-up guy w/ a great reputation.

Rifle is a 98k made at Berlin-Lubecker Machinenfabrick un Werke in 1941
for the German army(Heer). It probably went to the Eastern front where it
was caputured, stripped, and re-arsenaled. The barrel, reciever and front sight base
are matching. Thats it. The stock could be a early Lubeck or J.P Sauer. The bore
is excellent, like a mirror and groups very nice.

i was gonna ask how the bore is, how it shoots but i just saw that you covered that.

what kind of groups does it get?

and if you shoot corrosive ammo, be very sure to clean it well afterwards, ASAP. i use the windex with ammonia in it to remove the corrosive primer material.

price?  i would be very happy with that rifle if i were you.

is the front sight base slotted for a sight hood?

here is my vet bringback / bubba / rescue ( not an RC ) that i posted in the other thread,
repro sling / cleaning rod / sight hood. most numbers match

+1 for Todd at FF&F. He is an outstanding vendor. My RC 98K came from him as well.

At 100 yds. 4 of 5 landed in a head size target. I'm sure the gun can do better

because I'm not a crack shot. I also use windex afterwards at the range followed

by a shot of Rem oil. Once home its normal cleaning. Price was $325. I didn't want

that RC"X" stamped on the reciever and because the bore was so good, I paid more.

The front sight is slotted for the sight hood.
