You put the info you plan to engrave on the firearm, usually your (or your trust's) name and the city, state where it's being made. Just like it says on the form... h. Additional Description (Indicate required Maker's Markings to include Maker's name as registered, City and State as each will appear on firearm) |

thats a good question, I seen answers all over the place. Paid or Brace form 1 paid is your engraving brace is the maker or importer markings from the receiver is what I been told and what's in the FAQ but it seems like every on line and Reddit they say leave blank. the guides telling you how to fill it out say leave it blank unless its a 80%. I seen blank ones approved. the one from the gun shop thread here on afrcom had sbr in it. so it seems who knows. someone posted in a thread from this summer the atf asks the expert told them to leave it blank. so I have no idea I have 3 waiting with the original maker in the box and 1 blank we will see which gets denied if any I am hopping none of them. |

I'm confused on this as well. This YT Fudd Busters' recent vid suggests writing something having to do with the type of action, such as "gas-operated firearm," but I have no idea. I'm going to try to fill out the forms this weekend, but the above vid also states that if you're using a manufactured firearm, to which I understand as being a lower that's commercially manufactured (i.e. PSA, Anderson, Aero, etc.) that the ATF is already considering it an SBR and there's no need to have your name, city, and state engraved, but I haven't gotten there yet, so I don't know if they'll request that if it falls within this Pistol to SBR, waived tax stamp, ruling. Even what people are allowed to fill out in these forms are a little different under these special provisions. Writing SBR doesn't make a lot of sense, since that's the purpose of the form. If they want to know the type of action, then perhaps that's what the box should be labeled. I don't know, just poor instructions by the bov on how to fill out required paperwork, as usual. This seems the best advice so far... "Just like it says on the form... h. Additional Description (Indicate required Maker's Markings to include Maker's name as registered, City and State as each will appear on firearm)" Once you get to the end, it should be clear as to whether or not you'll have to have the lower engraved. this is from the FAQ on brace, I had done one as blank before I found this. so we will see if my blank gets returned. this is why I changed my other 3 to be the maker on the lower receiver but its the atf so who knows Eform brace its question 15 15. WHAT DO I PUT IN SECTION 4H, ADDITIONAL DESCRIPTION WHICH ASKS FOR THE REQUIRED MAKER’S MARKINGS, TO INCLUDE MAKER’S NAME AS REGISTERED, CITY AND STATE AS EACH WILL APPEAR ON FIREARM? Answer: Enter the name of the original manufacturer or importer, city, and State as marked on the frame or receiver of the firearm. If the firearm was made by a non-licensee and has no markings (e.g., a privately made firearm), then enter the applicant’s name, city, and State from Section 3b |

| The paper form 1 is way clearer than the new EFile. I spaced and just typed something to the effect of “______ braced pistol.” Their field on EFile doesn’t reference the description the paper does. We shall see if it’s an issue. Coming up on the 30 days they seem to be averaging. |
