The are very similiar for length and weight.

The 48 has a partial turned bolt, German 98k type cupped but plate and side sling set up.

The 24/47  Straight bolt, flat buttplate and regular mauser sling setup.

I prefer the 24/47's personally as a shooter.

Because someone will come along and point out this irrelevant fact...
The 48 and FN 24 24/47 use a shorter intermediate 98 action while the VZ-24 & 24/52c uses a normal length 98 action..

I thought the M24/47 were reworked  pre-war M24 short actions & the M24/52 were the standard length reworked K98's.

24/47's are reworked FN 24's/30's? and Serbian made 24's.

24/52c is a post war yugoslav rebuilt VZ-24.

98/48 is a reworked Captured German 98k.

Standard length Mausers actions/bolts: K98s, Yugo Model 98s, 24/52s (and VZ24s, 98/22s, GEW98s).

Intermediate length Mauser actions/bolts: 24/47s, M48s, M48As, M48BOs (and any FN Mauser).

I think some of the commercial FN mauser actions are true K98 length.  at least my JC Higgins model 51, built on a Belgian made FN Receiver is longer than my M48.

The difference between a standard mauser action and intermediate action is about 1/4 inch, if I recall correctly.  Doesn't make any real difference in function, but bolt interchangeability is an issue.

I'm seriously considering an unissued M48 myself.  My only real beef is the fact that I don't particularly like the rear sight.  I've read that Mojo sights, however, seem to have a solution to the lousy rear sight on the M48.  Someone here may have experience in that area.
