I just ordered on with the updated lock ring. Thoughts on this can? Which mount should I use (14.5")

SOCOM likes it.   That's the obvious thought.  They selected the BE meyers Flash hider mount.  Maybe that's the hot item in the mount category.

link? Is it as good as the surefire mount? Has anyone independently metered the new 212 can?

I hope it's a good choice.  I just started my paperwork for one too!

the be meyers mount is a sf mount..fh556-215. I like my 212 a lot, its a lot lighter than the nt4 i was planning on getting and was cheaper as well. The locking collar on it is great as well (although i wish i had the updated collar)

I have heard carbon build-up messes with the 215's tolerances and won't allow the can to seat well after you shoot it some.

my experience was if you shoot your 212 mount ALLOT in your can, your can won't clamp down on a 215 as the carbon build up from the 212 won't let it go all the way on.

Does the 215 ring like aac mounts or a vortex? Is this only an issue going between mounts 215 to 212, and would using only a 215 make it a non issue?

I use the 212A mount. It works great.

I still have not been able to file my Form 4 stuff yet. State transfers had to go through first. Eats up 6 weeks. LA is about the most backward place I have ever lived in or visited. We get all the obesity, ignorance, crime, and bible-thumping of the south, without the personal freedoms one expects in a southern state, lacking any reciprocity with ANY other state except for CCW permits and driver's licenses. The shipping dealer in WA likened my state to California in how complicated it was to get this thing even across my state line. *rant off*

I was pretty lucky.  My dealer had the 556-212 in stock.  It's now sitting in their pending drawer.   For the mount I'm picking up both a muzzle brake for my SCAR and the 212A for my work gun.

The FH556-215 does have a little ring as all open prong flash hiders do. It is a lower tone and the duration is short. SOCOM picked it because of the flash surppression.

I am on the verge of purchasing a 212 as well.

My dealer has a 212 monster in stock, that I am really thinking of buying. Any reason not to buy the monster version? I don't plan on doing my muzzle strikes, but it is in stock now.

I'm going with the -212A FH. Do you know the weight of it? I could not find that listed.
