I have a .180 high front sight, I need a .170 to raise the point of impact. Can you file down a night sight? I can not see why not, but if seems everyone is pushing new sights.

Problem is, you using the dot of the sight for your aiming point, and its the vial that needs to be lower on the front sight instead.

Also with some night sights, you don't use a 6:00 hold on the target, but put the dot on center of mass instead.

Short of this and reloading, you can change the loads so the pistol is shooting to where your aiming it instead. Hence lighter bullets will often shoot lower than a heaver bullet.
