I have a pistol that shooting low, would like to file the front sight down a little, it is a night sight, would you recommended, need to take of about .005 to .010

On night sights you are aligning the dots, so filing down the front would not mke a difference, but it would for use in daylight where you appear to not be using the dots.

You should be able to see how much metal there is above the vial.
