Hey i just got done building my first SBR. It has a 12 inch barrel with an Adams Arms piston system. Well I took it out for the first time today and was having FTF, i;m guessing, from all the knowledge I've gained from this website |

Give us more details and we may help you figure out the cause.
What ammo? What magazines? Was it only having problems with certain mags? Could the gas block be misaligned causing the pressure to be reduced? This sometimes happens when people install free floating rails that require the removal of the gas block. Most of the time they have the gas block to far to the rear. It needs to be off of the barrel step just a hair if you are not using the handguard cap. Is it ejecting correctly? |

The ammo was American Eagle AE223. It was doing it with all sorts of mags, Bushmasters, Pro Mags and P-Mags. As for the gas block the piston moves freely and I checked out the gas block position and there is a vary small gap between the barrel step and the block. The wear marks on the brass deflector are more to the outside, I'm not sure if that's where their suppose to be or not. |
| Just got back from the range. Tried some 5.56 ammo still had some FTF, so I borrowed my buddy's PWS-T2 buffer he has in his 10.3 inch rifle. Shoots great now! The only thing is that the brass is hitting really low on the deflector, but I'm ok with that because the rifle cycles fine. |

Good to hear. It looks like you just needed a heavier buffer. Any ideas on the brass hitting low, Or should i just not worry about it, and go shoot the hell out of it? Don't worry about that as long as the ejection is strong and your casing are flying more than 3 feet away. |
