| Hi, i heard ppl on these forums say that the early fs2000 has a forward seer that can be used to illegally convert the gun to a fun auto? Anyone got pics of the defect? new vs old pics? at what serial number was this fixed? |
I think it was referred to as a "safety sear" that would not allow the gun to fire until the bolt was sufficiently closed. Other than that I have no other details beside some supposedly have new roommates named BUBBA. REMEMBER - new civilian MG's have been against the law since 1986. I prefer to have those who could bring the govt wrath down upon me to continue sipping their coffee while I continue to daydream of the past. Hopefully the future too.

It wasn't a "defect." It was a small part that was a carry-over from the F2000. It didn't do anything in a semi-auto rifle and was therefore deleted. All it did in the F2000 was aid in the proper timing of hammer release to prevent out-of-battery discharges. Hence the name, "safety sear." IIRC we came to the conclusion it was removed somewhere in the 6500-7000 s/n range. Yes, converting an FS2000 to fire full-auto is illegal. |

I wish people would stop fishing for details how to do this and which ones can be converted. Almost all modern semi-auto rifles can be converted to full auto with some work and parts. Obviously, some firearms require more work and parts than others. Although the knowledge is not illegal, by asking about details on how to do this in a public forum, you are asking for extra scrutiny and a reversal on whether these things can be imported into the country. -That's not helping us. Since you are probably not licensed to manufacture machine guns, I'd suggest putting it out of your head. If you make an illegal machine gun and take it out to shoot, people are likely to find out about it. Friends and girlfriends can become ex-friends and ex-girlfriends. A person who has a grudge against you is likely to spill the beans to the authorities. There are many people behind bars because someone decided to rat them out to Law Enforcement. |
Well put! I wish I could afford the ammo for the fun switch let alone the gun it comes on.
