A 7.62x39 AK variant-mild, but satisfiing recoil An M1 Garand-near the upper limit of "fun" recoil for me, excellent sights and trigger, plus that cool "eight rounds and a ping" An M1 carbine- almost too little recoil, but fun An M1911A1-excellent trigger possible (mandatory for me), very comfortable to shoot, satisfiing recoil Karl |

How much do you want to spend? I don't see a .22lr handgun on your list. You could get a Ruger or a Browning Buck Mark. I you really want to have some fun look into a Ruger Charger. (10/22 handgun) What about a Taurus Judge? 45LC and .410 revolver. Think about trying to shoot clay with a handgun ![]() If you want to spend a little more buy a AK, a little bit more you can buy a PTR-91 and little more you can buy a SIG 556 and a little bit more you can buy a FAL and a little bit more you can buy a MSAR STG 556 (Steyr AUG clone). |

#1 Sagia-12 with some agp 10 round mags, sure to put a wicked grin on anyones face #2 M1 Garand as mentioned before you get the 8 shots and then the cool sounding Ping #3 RPK in 7.62x39 its big its clunky but damn is it cool with some 40rnd mags or a chinese made drum #4 lever action 30-30 or 44mag , fun gun to shoot all around #5 Model 97 trench gun copy , these are cool nothin funnier than watching a guy shoot skeet with one of these with the bayonet attached |

I really like my gsg5, good cheap shooting fun, though it eclipses your $400 budget unless you find a stellar deal. the beretta storm looks interesting as well, plus it uses beretta mags. I'm a big fan of sub gun types. I have no idea on their price. any AK is also a proven fun gun, in any caliber, although I think the days of extra cheap ammo are gone forever. |

I have one of these, and it is a HOOT TO SHOOT. If you get one make sure you get the optional foregrip. I have a YHM 2C5 FH on mine, it tames the huge spout of flame that you get otherwise.... Kel-Tec PLR-16 PLR-16 Video With the optional foregrip you have two Picatinny rails, one one top of the receiver and one under the foregrip. This is a GAS PISTON 5.56 handgun WITHOUT A BUFFER TUBE. Definitely a fun plinker. Can take any M-16 mag. This gun has taken avery type of 5.56 and .223 I have fed it with no FTF or FTE. While it is not a true AR-15 clone II think it's better in many respects) it has been utterly reliable. What a gas! Just make sure you do NOT add a VFG. That makes it an AOW ![]() |

well by definition a "fun gun" needs to be easy to use, reliable and logistically not a hindrance. its gotta work every time, otherwise its no fun hing i'd either go with some autloading shotgun (tho the trenchgun someone had mentioned would definitly work, i still havent shot mine hoot ps ak's are loads o fun too.... |

With what you have already, go cowboy. It looks like you could use a solid deer rifle and shooting a 336 30/30 is lots of fun and it's still an excellent serious purpose gun that could put food on your table one day. You can get one for a couple hundred bucks too. MarlinFirearms 336 |
| Where up north do you shoot? You already have a impressive list going. Someone already suggested a AK and I would suggest the same. If you asked me a few weeks ago I would have said to get a Judge. Taurus and I are not getting along real well with mine right now… The Judge is also a little over the $400 that you want to spend. |

An AK or a .22lr upper or conversion kit for your AR15. AK's are cheap, and fun to shoot. Since its the one of the only guns that I own that didn't cost close to a grand, it's also the only one that is painted camo, and damn does it look good! A .22lr upper from Spike's is going to be my next purchase, aside from every box of .22lr that I can find
