This thing is welded up in 300rds. Ive tried carb cleaner, PB Blaster, and kroil. I cannot get the baffles out. I tried hammering a wooden dowel through it with a dead blow mallet and broke the dowel.

any ideas?

Can you clarify? Can you not get the baffle stack out of the tube or apart?

I've put easily that much through my Alpine and had no problems getting it out of the tube. Getting the baffles apart has sometimes been difficult though.

The PB-blaster helped me get the end cap off but I cannot get the baffled out of the tube. Im afraid im going to damage it.

Hmm, that doesn't sound good. I'm not sure where the fouling came from. The Alpine core is pretty well sealed. The blast baffle butts up against the thread mount:

and the front cap covers the last K-baffle to keep the fouling inside the cap and off the threads:

Have you had the can apart before? Was the endcap flush to eliminate any gaps between the baffles to allow fouling the get out? And please don't take this the wrong way, were all 6 baffles + the blast baffle in the stack?

If it truly welded itself shut in 300 rounds, you should probably contact Gemtech and see what they can do for you.

Ive had it apart once before. That time it came out ok on but getting the baffles apart are a bitch. I cant figure out how its so locked up.

your baffles appear anodized. Mine are raw aluminum

Nope, mine are raw aluminum. I had talked to SRI about anodizing them but they couldn't do it because of tolerances.

I low-pressure blasted them awhile back to clean off the buildup which probably gives it that anodized look.

Do you think you may have had a baffle strike that put a bulge in the baffle/tube which is making it impossible to get the baffles out?
