Just stumbled on this. Has this been discussed before? |

On Glocks, the serialled 'firearm' part is the plastic lower frame, so on the Glock 18, that's the actual 'machinegun'.
That barrel, recoil spring assy, firing pin assy and extractor/fp safety will swap in to a Glock 17, but the slide itself is deliberately designed to fit only the special Glock 18 frame, and work only with the Glock 18 frame and trigger bar. |

That upper would be a great conversational/ novelty piece to have in my collection. Since this is a "part" and it wouldn't fit any standard glock lower, would having this upper be illegal if I have the entire glock family???? Not illegal unless you start modifying that slide to fit semi-auto rails, or milling one of your semi slides to take that selector. |

Without having handled a factory G18, are you sure the selector would even work on a standard Glock cruciform? I remember seeing photos of the 18 frame and the selector tab interfaces with a raised extension off of the cruciform. I know that conversion kits like the FSSG switch interface directly with the standard trigger bar, so I'm not sure how well that would work. |

Yes, I have an 18C and the simple answer is it will not work. There is more to it than just the rails. |

The G18 trigger bar can be adapted to a standard frame pretty easily, or a tab could be welded to a standard trigger bar.
If I wanted to make a very slick looking postie, I'd probably mill a semi slide for a selector, and weld a sear tab to a standard trigger bar, instead of the more common registered backplate. |

In one of the LEO Glock Catalogs i got ahold of they were selling G18's for like $450, and G18C's for $475. Yeah, but Glock won't sell to SOT 3s for demo purposes. There is a premium for buying a used one. You can't get a new one. why the hell not?? Do they not like Police departments having full autos? |
