I have a gsg 5 and have been very happy with it, I have had the ejector fixed by Ray and it was done in a timely manner. I have replaced all the screws as described in Jackals fine advise tack.

I would like to buy a gsg 5SD but for the money wouldn't you think that they would put in the right screws and mods before they release it . My dealer told me that when he gets them in he will let me take it apart to see if the screws have been changed and only then will I decide if I will purchase.  If someone knows if these mods are already done in the gsg 5SD please post.

I dont know about updated screws, but i did hear they will release the SD package as a kit to modify your current carbine. I have no idea when this will be available.

Hindsight is 20/20. The problem had not presented themselves until the weapon had been mass produced and shipped to dealers and individuals...why do they release updates for Windows? Or change the recipes of food? Its because things dont always pan out the way they expect and changes have to be made along the way to fix new problems that arise.

My PK Bought late Dec had all the upgrades. So I would imagine the new rifles will be so called 3rd-4th generation also!!
