I've got my girlfriends dad's rifle and I'm trying to figure out what exactly it is.  It looks to me like a yugo model 24 or 48, but the crest looks like it has been ground off.  I can still read it (barely) and it says "Fabrica de armas" and has a crest.  There is some more writing under the crest that I cannot read, but I can make out a "una" and under that a 5.  It also has a weird removable bayonet lug thing attached to the bayonet lug.  I'm lost as to what this might be for?  Here are some pics, any ideers?

Spanish M1943 Mauser made at Fabrica de Armas de La Coruna, should be an 8mm mauser.

That adaptor is for the Model 1893/16 type bayonets, but it can be removed for use with standard Model 98 bayonets.

One is available here.

BTW that is a nice looking Coruna!

That is one nice Mauser. The rear looks just like my FR-8.
