You will pay for the can up front.  If your dealer doesn't have one in stock, you will need to wait for him to order one OR you can have on transferred in if your dealer isn't opposed to transfers.  You'll wait on a F3 (transfer from manf->dealer or dealer->dealer).  Once the can arrives, you start the F4 process.  Send it in with your $200 check and wait.  The approved stamp will be mailed back to your dealer and then you can take your can home.

Sir,

Hang out for a while and you'll learn a lot...

1.  How do you KNOW you're getting a Knight's?....Unless you know of a stocking dealer, they are pretty hard to find...It seems all of their products go to .gov or .mil contracts first.  IMHO, KAC is not worth the wait.

2.  Yes, you usually have to pay for the suppressor before the Form 3/4 is started.  Some dealers will let you pay a deposit if they must order the suppressor, etc.  YMMV.

3.  Before you start the F4, you must decide on the method in which you are going have the suppressor transferred to you...Individual, Trust, or Corp....depending on your state law.

4.  Once you have determined the method, you then complete your F4 and mail the completed forms (possibly with fingerprint cards, photos, certification of compliance, copy of trust, and schedule A) and a $200 check to the BATFE.

5.  Wait 5 months. Your dealer will then call you and notify you that your stamp has arrived.  You then go to the dealer, pay any applicable transfer fees, fill out state and federal gun purchase paperwork, then leave with your new can.

6.  Post gun/suppressor porn ASAP.

Hope I answered some of your questions....

Good Luck, and don't forget the porn.

i have KAC NT-4 FH's on my rifles so it has to be a QDSS NT-4

that said i was going to order it from a site sponsor who has them and get it transfered to my local FFL whos also a gun range

is there any sort of damage that can come from running suppressors on 10.5" barrels?

Increased baffle erosion comes with shorter barrels. Also, some guns need to be "tweaked" to run short barrels and suppressed. Mine run fine.

I was surprised to see how "funky" my suppressor mount/brake got when shooting it on a short barrel.
