Planning on testing the new nato pressure load data from accurate and ramshot. With AA2460 and ss109 bullets, there is a 5.2 grain difference between min load(standard pressure) and the max load(nato pressure). If I run a 10% increment per rung, that is a half grain between loads, and I'm thinking that is too much to actually find the sweet spot for the rifle. I'm thinking three tenths between rungs is probably a better bet. Also considering just loading up a single round of each for a pressure check to see if I should just eliminate the top end load altogether. What say ye? |

You might find a couple accuracy nodes. I'd either plan to do a couple of outings using small incriments, or go .5 grain incriments and just plan on going back to refine things. I never have luck finding the load with one outing. At least 2 with auto guns and add an outing for seating depths for bolt guns. Things just never go as planned, at least for me.
Eta...I usually load one each of the lower end of the range and use them as sighters and to check for pressure. I try to do enough research that I have a general idea of where I should be. |
