They also aint cheap. Also, realize that the real deal ammo is expensive and each round must be registered as a destructive device, but the chalk ones are like 40 bucks a piece. here are some I dont see many colts except that "white" one for 5K. |

Here's one, just pay the transfer tax, get the paperwork done and it's yours in several months!

MO doesn't allow M203's. That being said, if that ever changes I was going to pick up a rail mounted LMT model. There is a way around it in Missouri, I know of several M203's/M79's in 40mm owned in Missouri. I can't tell tell you how, I agree the way RSMo reads.............NO DD's. To purchase a Colt M203, the ONLY source I know of is Dennis Todd, Lebanon, Pennsylvania. PursuitSS |

I don't mean to highjack the tread, so I hope the OP wants to know what I'm asking.
If I buy a spikes tactical 37mm and then register it as a DD (pay tax) can I put a 40mm barrel on it? I mean legally yes but will a 40mm barrel fit it? Is the spikes tactical compatible with a standard M203? is the really question. anyone have a spikes tactical 37mm? Here in oregon the ORS states DD are illegal unless registred. try to find the exception in your stautes. |
| You can bore the Spikes out to 40mm. Mad Dog did his I believe. There is more than enough "meat" on the Spikes barrel to take the low pressures of the 40mm munitions. Also, the only ammo that really needs the spin are HE, which contain spin activated fuzes. Every other pyro round, practice round, and smoke marker rounds do not need the spin. GROG |

GROG More information I wanted to know. Thank you Grog. What If I wanted to have my own rounds spin so I could have fold out fins to stabilize flight path? And have it arm or unlock an impact device to snap a primer on impact for a report? It seems that a reuseable Projo could be made out of Al that could use a prime in the nose but not be able to have the striker move until the fins are all folded out. the fins would fold out due to spin. just ideas |

There are already several examples of rounds like that being manufactured, since the 50s actually. Federal has a large smoke and gas round that has spring loaded fins that deploy on launch to stabilize it in flight. (I have one here) Not sure if they still make them. Many of the current plastic liquid baracade CS rounds use fins on the back to improve accuracy.
They are not re-useable, but someone could make one up. Problem is that thin fins normally get torn up or off when launched, on impact with any type of backstop. My M79 barrel is smoothbore, since I don't have a bunch of $ to register HE and HEDP, and the buckshot M576 works better out of a smoothbore I like it. The 203 I have several barrels for, all rifled.
