Maybe I'm in the wrong place, but does anyone know what load data to use with the m885 bullet heads? The bullet itself seams longer than many 62 gr projectiles. The closest bullet I've loaded lengthwise is the 65 gr sierra game king. which is very accurate in my rifle. For the game king I normally load 23 gr of h335. Does this seam like a suitable load for the m855? I recently purchased 1000 bullet heads for gp high power use. Also does anyone have any expierence using the 65 game king for shooting deer? I know this is a loaded question, and many of you will want to coment on what a recoil sensative, combat wannabe, unethical, or otherwise retarded person I am for asking this. Please restrain yourselves ,and let those whom have first hand experience share their insight. Possitive or negative, I'm looking for actual field gained knowledge. Loads, barrel length, performance. Thanks |

You are in the wrong place (reloading) in the armory is where ya wanna be. With that said Starting load for H-335 63gr bullet is 22.5 max load is 25.0.Start at the minimum load and work your way up watching for pressure signs. As far as a good round to hunt deer i use a 64gr power point (same load data). Hope this helps ya P.S get a good reloading manual |

As noted Reloading Forum is the correct place to find this tacked to the top of the forum: Rifle Reloading Database, (few 62 grn loads documented there). mike |
Both the older 64grn Power Point and the newer 64grn Power Point Plus Winchester rounds are excellent hunting rounds. I prefer the older Power Point bullet myself and reload them for use in my ARs for far better than commercial produced Winny accuracy in MY rifles. mike ps - as these rounds have a serious lead nose on them I highly recommend the use of an AR15 upper equipped w/ M4 feed ramps, in order to reduce the possibilty of "set-back" when using these rounds. The lead nose of the PP has a tendency to catch while loading into the chamber on non-M4 ramped uppers..... |
