Thanks for the warning!!!  Are you going to mark it as a 'Lemon' when you put on the EE?

Sorry you had all these issues - it's a lot of money to pay for that much frustration.

No, I'm not putting it on the EE.  I'm going to take it back to the shop.  The owner will make it right for me.  He's a good egg.

So what did DSA say when you spoke to them about these problems?

Are you saying that one should speak with a manufacturer before nailing them to the cross in a discussion forum

They were very nice, and sent me a new firing pin.  I bought an XP recoil spring from another vendor, and the scope mount thing happened this afternoon, so I haven't spoken to them.  I no longer trust this rifle.  I have the parts to fix it, which I will do, before I get rid of it.

I'm not crucifying them.  They're very nice people, and the other DSA I've owned was a beautiful gun...but this one is a lemon.

Mods, please delete the thread.  I didn't mean to bash DSA in general.

Hate to be the voice of dissent here.  I've been a big DSA fan until I got this last Congo about a month ago.  This thing is a piece of shit.  So far, it's broken a firing pin, had a weak(defective) recoil spring assembly (Para), and today for the piece de resistance, the Para scope mount shifted forward after a hundred rounds or so, allowing the recoil spring guide to move out of its slot.  When the bolt recoiled, the metal piece on the end of the spring retainer sheared in half, tying up the bolt and the piece fell under the trigger, which can no longer be pulled.

I'm fixing it tonight and trading it off tomorrow.  Enough is enough.

That's because you limp wristed the screwdriver when you installed it.

I was just curious.  EVERY manufacture turns out the ocassional lemon.  How they handle it is what impresses me.

Id like to hear how they handle a situation like this.

That's a damn shame..
I've had mixed opinions w/ DSA Cust. Svc.
The last two discussions w/ them haven't been
very "helpful"... But prior to Nov. all was grand.

Well, I tightened it FIRMLY, then added witness marks with a paint pen.  The screws have not moved.

Curious. How could it shift forward?  Mine mounted all the way forward. If even a little to the rear you can't close the action. Did the locking plate(s) jump the receiver slot?

I don't know.  I'll look and post in another thread after this one is gone.
