| OK gents, correct me if I am wrong, but I understand from reading around that a suppressor for an AR10 in 308 will work on an AR15 considering that both weapons function fine. Is this true and if it is how effective is the larger bore suppressor on the smaller caliber? Reason I ask is because my end goal is a suppressed AR10 for hunting, primarily hogs, but occasionally use the suppressor on the AR15 for shits and giggles.... |

I have an AAC 762-SD and it works great on my M1A and AR-15. Both rifles have the appropriate Blackout 51T Flashhider to mount the can. That is something that I forgot to mention was that both rifles would have the appropriate adapter to mount the suppressor to them. Another question I have is for people who make their own LEGAL suppressors. First off, I do not have the know how, tools, patience, drive, etc to make my own, this is just for curiosity sake (however if I find the right person with tools and the paperwork I may in the far future). Do you use a certain companies adapter/way of mounting or do you just thread it to screw on to your barrel as is? |
| My can simply has replaceable thread adapters to put on different threading. 1/2x28, 9/16x24, 5/8x24, and 14.1 left. I Wish i would have set it up to use the same adapter like the blackout adapter, and then made several adapters to put on the different threaded barrels. |

Just remember, if you find choose to F1 a suppressor, you can't have someone else who has proper tools and know how build it for you. They would be manufacturing it. But they can "show you" how to do it. Good point. Let's hope for sounds sake that I am a good "student"! |

I had a close friend who is a machinist by trade. He had the patience of Job showing me how to do stuff, and I now want my own lathe like crazy. I will probably have to have him come show me things again when and if I ever get one. |

I have an AAC 762SDN6, and I've shot it side by side with an M42K on an AR15 and wasn't able to hear a difference. I don't think they meter the same but to my ear, it's close enough.
If your intent is to mix and match one can on different rifles, research the choices (extra mounts are extra $$$). I'm not aware of a .308 can that will mount on the normal flash hiders. |

I sot a lot of rounds through the quiter & lighter version of that can: the 18-tooth 762SD. Also works with 51T but not recommended long term. It works great on a 223 AR - BUT: -AACs are NOT the ideal choice for a 30 cal "multi-purpose" can (IMHO). I have a couple of AKs in 223 and AAC won't make adapters to fit them (even assuming the threads are concentric). I am sure there are other "odd" thread patterns in 308 or 223 out there: FALs, Galils, etc. Anyone know what they are using on Tavors & SCARs? Other 30 cal cans are probably more "flexible" if that is your goal. |

I'd rather have a mount than a thread on can, personally. |

Lol, OP asking those questions and then asking about Form1.... THAT will turn out great I'm sure.
Save your time and money and buy the most expensive suppressor you can afford - or - build one, then come back this thread and re-read this to understand what those words mean. |

All I was asking was about switching a suppressor from one caliber to another and how people who have made their own attach them to their rifle. I have no questions about the form 1, and if I do I'll ask an LEO or a subject matter expert, not a random username on the internet. Although everything posted on the internet is true isn't it buddy? Next time I will post in GD so I can get smartbutt answers from people who assume they are me. Out before someone with a smarter than you attitude and can read minds spontaneously combusts out there. |

I have no idea what your post is supposed to mean. |

I was wrong. As link to NFA handbook states, don't let any of materials and go home.
