Several years ago I had a set of trijicon ghost ring night sights (scattergun tech) installed on my shotgun by a local gunsmith. However in the midst of a 3 gun match recently I found myself missing/looking for my front sight to no avail. After doing some research (shotgun world forum) I found out that these sights were meant to be installed over and pinned to the existing ramp/pedestal which my shotgun never had. It's a remington 870 wingmaster police trade in that only came with your typical silver bb style bead front sight and the local smith must have just used the epoxy provided with the sight, which was apparently not enough. Now I've left with this:
A barrel with a hole in top of it. Any suggestions on what my options are for a replacement front sight? |
| Did the smith remove the front bead or did it shear off/strip out with the front sight that was added? You should be able to order a pedestal and bead from Remington or one of the on line parts suppliers and then have a new Trijicon front sight installed, another option is to order a new triji sight and have it brazed/hard soldered on. I assume you want to keep the rear sight you have but if not there are add on sights that use a banded front sight while the rear sight just screws in to the receiver like the rear sight you already have. |
