ok i have a m41k on  a 16in bushy

i usually run UMC 55gr thru it and it does fine

i bought some EBR subsonic ammo and most of it went super

however there were about 5 or 6 in a row that went totally subsonic....
it seemed that these started to go sub when the can got hot...

is this related?

i wouldnt think this would have anything to do with how fast the bullet is traveling but it has got me wondering...

im trying to get some ammo that goes sub every time.... i know the ballistics arent that good but i dont care

anbody kno where i can get my hands on some?
dont say TTI armory ... they are sold out forever

Just a wild guess ,,the barrel got hot = less friction = less pressure build up of the burning powder =less velocity
Just like to little crimp on a cartridge can LOVER the velocity ,because the powder dosnt get up to right pressure for optimal burning

but normally you get higher velocity because of the hot chamber

To many variables  to say for sure

How much did you have to pay pr ,round

Reload your own. You will get better results.

Or just get a Ciener kit and shoot .22s.  You end up with about the same result downrange: a .22 caliber bullet traveling around 1000 fps.  And the gun cycles just fine, while keeping your ammo subsonic.

Sure the subsonic .223 is a little heavier, but if you're concerned with weight, shoot the 60 gr. Aguila SSS.

Yeah I just got some at a gun show over the weekend. I paid $1.25 per round.

I will be getting into reloading very soon.

i would go the 22 route
but i have heard the stories about the amount of dirt it puts in ur can,,,
im planning on going on a dedicated 22 upper for that soon

i just can put this subsonic stuff together
it dosnt make sense
