long story short,I live in n.e.ohio the person im trying to make a deal with lives in buffilo n.y.. can we do a transfer in erie pa.thats about half way for both of us, or should I just go to new york? it's a trade, rifle for rifle |

You cannot legally transfer a firearm to a resident of another state without going through an FFL. If it's a handgun, that FFL must be in the buyer's state. |

Could they do a FTF involving a PA dealer doing background on both? "FTF" in common usage means NO FFL is involved in the transaction. If they choose to use a dealer for the transaction he will log it into his books, the buyer completes a 4473/NICS and logs it out to the buyer. <----FFL who does transfers every week when the buyer or seller is too nervous to meet the other party at Walmart. |
