| Curiousity more than anything. I'm looking at various bullet suppliers it seems they have a lot of pulled bullets available. I'm looking mostly at 9mm. Why is someone pulling down 9mm ammo in enough quantity to sell pulled bullets? Is this manufacturing error, as in oops the powder scale is out of calibration and we ran 100k rounds & we dont know what they are? It sure seems like there are a lot of them available. |

The ammo pull down may have been a condition of sale from the Government, or as you suggested, pulls for bad loads, or liability reasons..
I've tried some pulled bullets for my FN Five Seven. They do suffer a lot in accuracy. 9mm might not be as sensitive. I suspect the method of pulling will have a lot to do with the accuracy. For my time, it's worth the small extra cost to get new bullets. I think blems are better than pulls. |

Yes. Ammunition is pulled for many reasons. Not enough powder, too much,
not seated deep enough, too deep. You get the picture. Companies run huge amounts before they are ready to put it out to the public. They are good way to shoot a lot and cheaply if found at the right price. |
| I've loaded and shot a lot of pulled bullets. I buy them if they are a good value and saves money. I especially like 500 and 1000 round lots of pulled bullets and you can buy premium bullets such as Speer's Gold Dots or Win HST's for less than half price. Often these premium bullets sell for better than $20 per 100. Most often pulled pistol bullets have slight crimp marks but they load and shoot just as well as boxed bullets. Only thing I'd recommend is to carefully inspect pulled bullets. Sometimes you may have for instance a 147 gr. bullet mixed in with your 124 gr. 9MM's and sometimes you'll find the rare one out of round. They still are worth the cost and I watch for good deals constantly. |
| I got 2k of 9mm 115RN pulled bullets from Rocky Mountain and the were very low quality. There were some 124 grain and 147 grain and many with deep pull grooves in them or big dents. I think I lost over 100 bullets. For me it was not worth the little savings. I stick with new bullets from Berry's or Xtreme, no surprises and good quality all the time. |
