how can i tell if some 30 cal bullits i have are tracers or not they are 138 gr fmj looking with a funny looking base

If you use one of the 'aim and flame lighters' would it light up the phosphorus on the bullet???
I sold all of my tracer bullets otherwise I would test one out for you.
