i was given a box of fiocchi shotshells and wonder if anyone could tell me about them.
it's something i've never run across before.

12 gauge, 2 3/4", low brass, marked "cheddite" on the base.

rubber buckshot, 15 pellets - OO buck, 750 fps.

would these be for leo training purposes or prison guard riot control?

thanks.

ETA: looked further in the box and discovered that there was a mix of shells. the fiocchi are high brass, 15 rubber pellets of OO, 750 fps.

the rest are marked "cheddite", low brass and have probably at least 3 large rubber pellets pellets in them.

confused?
me too...

"Cheddite" is a French maker of shotgun hulls and primers.

I think that Graf's carries the hulls as reloading supplies.

As far as I know, they don't make loaded ammunition, so the hulls were probably loaded by Fiocchi.

I doubt that they're for training.  Europeans load some weird stuff.

From what I understand, rubber buckshot is a "less-lethal" type of load.  Riot control, animal control, and such seem to be the intended use.
