So I was thinking about form 1'ing a .22 suppressor but im also thinking about buying at this point and need to see what fits my needs on the form 4 route.
Im looking for a thread on 22 suppressor for a ruger 22/45 and 10/22 that has the best performance in sound reduction possible, length and weight are not a factor but diameter / width probably are since I don't want to have to screw around too much with the sights on the 22/25. Also, obviously... it has to be user serviced / able to be disassembled. Also, and this is probably the biggest factor... I wan't something that has a very durable body and baffles since I know 22 cans foul horribly and I was hoping to throw the baffles in my Thumbler's Tumbler Model B with stainless steel media and let it polish off the carbon and lead when its gets really fouled. I'm worried that if I do that with aluminum baffles the stainless media will erode the baffles too much so I'm really looking for a long can with a bunch of titanium or inconel baffles I guess. Am I on the right track or any suggestions? |

AAC Element 2 is a solid can. I use one on a 22/45 and it's nice and quiet. Easy to take apart with the included push tool. Concur with this. Very quiet on a 22/45 host with no FRP issues. It's light. My go to can to make people smile. For reference, I own a Sparrow II (preferred rifle can) and have a Surefire Ryder22A in addition to the Element 2. |

Ok, so right now its a toss up for me between the AAC Element 2 and the Liberty Kodiac TL. Which would hold up better being run through stainless steel media in a wet rotary tumbler for years? Why is the Spectre II out? Dunno, I guess cause its a little heavier is all. Ok, so Liberty Essence, AAC Element 2, and SilencerCo Spectre 22 and the Liberty Regulator? That's what its narrowed down to right? Price isn't a huge concern considering that its a long term investment and I'm already paying $200 for the stamp. Suppression and durability are... At this point I'm really looking at the liberty regulator and kodiac TL the most right now for whatever reason though... I think that I'm going to call them tomorrow. |

length and weight are not a factor Theres not really huge difference in supppressors when you get down to it. You asked me to give you a reason and I did. Spectre 2 looks like an outstanding can, it just didnt grab my attention like the other ones... I was more interested in the element for conventional baffels honestly. But the more i look at the liberty regulator the more interesting it looks. I'm not real sure about monocore but for the weight and sound suppression I think I'd be willing to give it a shot. |

It is hard for folks to give you good recommendations, when you ignore your own requirements. |

The Element 2 has a titanium tube with stainless steel baffles. The Specter is all steel. Either should do fine in the tumbling media.
I'm no expert, but tumbling aluminum baffles or monocore stacks (such as the GM22) with steel media would give me pause. The Essence is 95% titanium, but it's a monocore.. The regulator has a titanium tube and steel monocore.. Monocore designs are really easy to clean but tend to have more FRP. I have not heard them in person. |

I came here asking the same question not long ago, but i was asking about the Sparrow vs the Surefire Ryder .... After a bunch of resposes I ended up buying the Spectre 2. |
