| Im looking into a can for a 5.56 11.5" barrel M4. Is it worth the extra 1.25" rearward blast chamber with a coned blast baffle on a reflex silencer or should i just use a regular external straight baffle design? What is an optimum design? No subsonic ammo |

"home modified" means what exactly? It sounds like you are planning ahead for something. You gonna Form1 a suppressor? Yes, do the reflex and allow the gasses to expand and blow back into the reflex portion to as to help alleviate pressure on the blast baffle. Straight baffle design? You mean versus reflex or are you asking about the actual baffles that you will make? If it's the latter, you don't want straight as in "washer" like baffles. |

Well, with a 11.5" barrel there is only 1.25" of barrel that the rear chamber can cover before the can hits the front sight post when screwed on. Does it matter how much volume is in the chamber surrounding the barrel or does it just matter how much volume the whole blast chamber is? As far as the "straight" baffles, i meant uniform design. Some that ive seen look kinda like _ versus _
