I just purchased an EAA Witness Match Combat Sport 10, and after massaging the action and polishing everything in sight, it feeds great. I just need to find out if anyone on this thread knows any info for the Sierra 135 rg. bullet, as I have a full box from loading my .40S&W. I have heard that I can use a max load of Unique (8.5 gr, in the Sierra manual) for the .40S&W as a starting load for my 10MM with the same bullet. I cannot seem to find any published info for this bullet wt., and I have the latest Sierra, Speer, Hornady and Nosler manuals. I would like to use Unique or Blue Dot, as I already have plenty of these powders. I would really appreciate any help, as I have become quite a fan of the 10MM! My Witness put 5 rounds into a little over 1" @ 25 yds with CCI Blazer 200 gr. NR stuff. I'll be using new Starline brass, as I ordered 500 cases last week and received them in 5 days, for $79.95, including shipping. Starline said they have plenty of 10MM in stock, if anyone else needs some! God bless. |

If a powder is not listed it is a good indication that it is a poor choice for a cartridge… You don't think they hide the good ones do you Blue Dot and AA 9 have been the best performers with this cartridge since it was introduced. (obviously an exception or 2, but few) |

Nosler #6 page 677 also has data for their 135gr bullets. |

Due to the lack of surface area of the bullet inside the brass, recoil of the 10mm tends to shake them loose. Keep an eye out for that, shoot a few and check remaining rounds to see if length has changed. Good Luck. Please give us an update. I have been looking at the EAAs but few people have them in 10mm, I will be interested to hear more. |
I cannot believe how short-sighted I was when I first looked in my manuals! I guess I was just interested in Unique, and passed by the info I needed for Blue Dot! What little hair I have left is all white; does that qualify me for a "blonde moment"? Thankyou for your info, and as a passing warning to others about getting into too much of a hurry to shoot your new pistol, I must confess that you guys indirectly may have saved my bacon! I had researched loads on the internet for some 150 gr. Sierra HP's I have and found a load at a site, which shall not be mentioned, which gave a charge of 12.8 gr. Blue Dot with that bullet. Well, I thought that sounded great, and loaded up a few with 12.5 gr. and set them aside for testing. Thank God I came here, 'cause what you said made me go back to my manuals and I found that page in the Sierra manual and a Blue Dot load for the 135 gr. bullet that maxes out at 12.0 gr! Needless to say, I am humbled by my lack of proper research and by your kind assistance, and am in the process of pulling those loads today! God bless and keep up the good work.
