I am saving my pennies to start reloading and I am in need of a good bench. My mom offered me an old square 6 person dining room table but that may be too big. The table is 7ft long, stripped of all finishes and has solid legs at the 4 corners. I saw on another thread a guy that built a simple bench for like $48 and had a bottom shelf for supplies. I like that idea a lot.
im not sure how much room I will need. as a reference, a dillon xl650 is on my wish list. I would just like to see everyone's setup whether you built it, bought it, etc. |
| The bench on the other post would be good. It should be big enough but I wouldn't go any smaller than that. If you have room for a bigger bench bigger is always nicer. The only things I would change on that design would be to put plywood connecting the legs on the sides and back of the bench between the shelf and top, just to keep it from wobbling/flexing, and possibly to double up the plywood on the top. Weight and rigidness are your friends when building a reloading bench. |

This would work...I have a couple of the 8 foot benches. They have butcherblock tops, so be careful drilling the holes. Might want to let the drill poke through, then finish the hole from the bottom.
