Just wondering how these powders compare to each other for handgun reloading, specifically .45ACP,  please list your pro's and con's of each if you can,  you may also add your preference of powder  if it is not listed. Thanks!!

tightgroup Good accuracy, good choice. Of the 3 I've used my favorite of this list.

bullseye  A little dirty burning, good accuracy.

autocomp Haven't tried it yet.

unique  A little dirty burning, good accuracy.

What I use is Clays for cast bullets, and Power Pistol for full power loads.

And don't forget W-231, another good 45 ACP powder.

Welcome to Arfcom.

tightgroup        Good powder, consistent velocities, meters well

bullseye           Universal standard, been using it for decades, excellent powder, good for a lot of calibers

autocomp         Never used it

unique             Good consistent velocities, good with an semi automatic, with a revolver it's like a cloud ever time you fire, dirty stuff.

Titegroup is all I use for .45 and 9mm.  Meters great and never had one problem with it.

One downside (could be with all these) is that a double charge is possible if you aren't careful.

Don't care for Titegroup. I don't like fast powders because it is too easy to get pressure spikes due to the high impulse power of the powder. Also double charges are not easily spotted since they don't come close to filling the case. I prefer Unique. At the higher charge weights it is not as dirty as some claim. It gives good velocities with a decent recoil impulse and is easier to spot a double charge especially with the higher charge weights as they nearly fill the case.

I haven't used the other two so I can't say.

Thanks for the replys, I went with the tightgroup. Now it's time to start working up some loads for the 200gr plated RN bullets I bought.

For 45 acp,44 spl,38spl,40S&W,32apc,9mm Mak,and 380 it's Titegroup. For 44 mag,357mag it's H110. I have been using Titegroup over 12 years with great results.
