How difficult is it to replace the bolt catch?  Any special techniques.  Looks like drifting the roll pin out would be a good starting point.

Ar-15 receiver,

Tape up the sides of the receiver so you don't mar the sides with the punch, and use a long reach punch so you don't get the handle of the punch near the receiver.

When reassembling the bolt catch use a “ slave pin” made from section of tooth pic, wooden match stick,  or Q-tip shaft to hold everything together while you tap the roll pin back into place.

Thanks for the tips.  Damaged an upper with hot load and just noticed that when shells/mag were ejected through the mag well apparently the bolt catch cracked.

I haven't had to try this trick yet, but here seems like a good place to share it-

Find a pin that fits in the roll pin's hole, a loose running fit.  Now put some clay/playdoh/etc in the roll pin hole, pack it in tight.  Use a small hammer and the pin to drive the clay in, this should displace the pin.  Repeat as needed.

EDIT: that's not a blind hole like I thought, I'll leave the comment as it is a good trick for blind roll pins.
