I have a buddy that has a RRA pistol, lower is marked "pistol only". Can he sbr it?

It's already rigged out and he loves it.

Sure he can if he can get the CLEO to sign off on it or form a trust, then pay $200 for a stamp, wait about 3 months to get it approved and then get the lower engraved...if he has a stock on it, have him remove now.

The "pistol only" marking does not have any bearing on whether it can be used as an SBR.  He is GTG.

Very good. I sbr'd my lower , but it was purchased with that in mind.

Just didnt know.

Another question, when he starts the paperwork, can he leave it in the pistol configuration? just add a new buffer tube and stock when paperwork comes back?

Yes, this is what a lot of people do while waiting for the stamp to come back.

Yeah he can shoot it as a pistol until his paperwork comes back and he has the stamp.... Replace the tube, and a stock and he is GTG>
