has anyone got a new s.a. 4th gen mount. i have a 3rd gen thinking about picking one up (if there worth the price) they look good.

There are two 4th gen mounts. The Aluminum is the same as your 3rd gen is. The other steel version is similar to the original ARMS 18 mount. So it is much better than before, however for the cost of it, most still buy Sadlak or Smith Ent mounts.

Ask why it's taken Springfield 4 try's to maybe get it right. Than go buy a Sadlak .
