I swear by the MECs but they will run you a bit more than the LEE.

Want a cheap shotshell loader that works?  MEC is the answer.

If you want to get a progressive shotshell loader, the Dillon SL850, I think it's called.

I can't say I'm a fan of any Lee products except their taper crimp dies.

Lee is a good starter set.  I have had mine for about 10 or 12 years. If you want to spend around $100, then the Mec 600 Mark5.
That will be my next one(if I don't find a used Mec for less)
I mentioned Lee the first time because it was the cheapest way to get started.

MEC 600 JR is exellent/inexpensive unit to work with. For "roll crimp", I think you need a special tool that is used in a drill press.

Know nothing on the roll-crimp attachment, but wanted to correct what I said earlier.  I was checking Cabelas on-line last night and saw the Lee system for $32.99(not $50)

Mec 650 here, it's 20 years old and keeps on ticking. I don't know how much they run nowadays.

I don't know of any current manufacturer that makes a roll crimp reloader.  While roll crimps are still currently done for some brands of slugs, it is hard to get the roll right doing it yourself as I understand.  What I mean by that is that its hard to get equal pressure all the way around the crimp on a roll crimp and thus accuracy in slugs goes way down.  Lee makes a key slug kit that fits a slug into a wad cup and allows for a star crimp.

Having used both the Lee and Mec, the Mec is a much nicer unit to reload with especially when comparing the Mec Jr to the Lee Load All.  You can't push hard enough on a Lee Load all to stuff a buffered load of 1 7/8 oz of #4 shot for turkey loads as a for instance.  You can fairly easily with Mec.  You get what you pay for.  Decide how much reloader you want and then shop for a reloader that meets your needs.  Both of the above reloaders can be had for less than $100.

There are also reloaders better suited for multi tasks such as the Mec Jr and some that are better at factory loads ie 1 1/8oz loads such as the RCBS and Hornady, Dillon reloaders.

I own two shotgun reloaders a Mec Jr with a universal charging bar for custom hunting loads where adjustability key, and a semi progressive for spitting out trap loads as fast as I can pull the handle.
