| hey guys what would you opinion on the sig 556? |
|
I had one for about a year. I liked it. Was a good rifle. Easy to maintain. Reasonably accurate. Good trigger. But it was nose heavy, the fit was loose there was a lot of play between the upper and lower. I changed the polymer rail for Sig's two piece unit and it was ok. Tough to get parts for it. That may have changed by now. My s/n# was in the low 3000's I ended up moving on to the AR platform. There is just more out there for them.

I shot one once. Nice rifle. Fairly accurate, a bit heavier than a 16" AR-15 but by no means too heavy. Unlike ARs, the Sig is a short stroke gas piston. Very large ejection port, I imagine jamming would never be an issue. Nice trigger too.
If I had the money, I'd get one. |

Where did you put the o-rings? I'd like to tighten my gun up but am not sure where they'd go and what size to buy. What he said.... I tried the conventional place, the rear lug, and it did not help much. Then I took one put it so it would be between the inside of the front dual lugs and where the front pivot pin would slide through (I have the KNS push button pivot pin), and it works great. Size? hell if I know. I bought a o-ring set that has all the sizes for about 5 bucks at the tractor store, so I just tried them until one fit. I'll try to take a pic and post it tonight. |
